There are so many cosplayers to follow on social media. You can find cosplay inspiration on just about any social media platform.  But who should you follow? Who are the most famous cosplayers?

The cosplayers you’ll see on this list have earned their spot for bringing characters to life. Each one has demonstrated a level of professionalism that has grown their fanbase, and each one of them has turned their passions into a career.

If you want to try cosplay for yourself, check out the complete beginner’s guide to get you started!

Alodia Gosiengfiao

Originally from the Philippines, Alodia is a professional cosplayer with over a decade’s worth of experience.

Since her fame started back in 2003, Alodia has kept herself busy by cosplaying, modeling, singing, and acting. She has acted in Regal Shocker, The Reunion, Crossroads, and a convention documentary called Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope.

She also spends her time being a judge for anime conventions and being a brand ambassador.

She currently has brand deals with a sushi bar, a clothing line, and a skin whitening product.

Her most well-known cosplays are characters from Final Fantasy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and G.I. Joe.

If you want to see some of the work she’s done, check her out on Instagram or Youtube.

Linda Le

Linda Le, also known as Vampy Bit Me, started cosplay when she was 12 years old. She’s an American cosplayer with almost 30 years of cosplay experience!

Her fame started when a Japanese toy company displayed her cosplay photos. Since then she has been cosplaying, modelling, creating art, and even launched her very own clothing line.

Psylocke, from X-Men, is Linda’s most commonly known cosplay. It hasn’t grown old though; she’s done every version of the character!

If you want to see her work, check her out on Instagram or Twitch

Yaya Han

This Chinese cosplayer discovered her passion in 1999 and hasn’t stopped perfecting her art.

Now based in the United States, she frequently judges cosplays at different competitions all around the world. She’s been on tv, and was featured on Heroes of Cosplay and has been considered a cosplay pioneer.

Yaya has made over 300 costumes in almost every cosplay category you could think of. She’s done anime, comic books, video games, sci-fi, and even her own designs.

What makes her impressive is she is completely self-taught. With limited access to funds and resources, Yaya taught herself fashion and costume design.

Jessica Nigri

Jessica Nigri has the least experience on this list so far, but don’t think for one second that it means she shouldn’t be on this list.

She’s an American cosplayer, YouTuber, model, voice actress, interviewer, and the official spokesperson for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

She also does quite a bit of charity work, which can’t be said about others on this list.

Her cosplay for Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw is what made her famous. The look was controversial and many people say it exploits women. In an art form like cosplay, risqué isn’t risky.

AniMia

AniMia started modeling before she began cosplaying. To this day she incorporates what she learned while modeling into her cosplay to set her apart from the rest.

She has been featured on the covers of magazines, travelled worldwide to appear to show off her cosplay in competitions, and is currently sponsored by Crunchyroll.

She’s even been a special guest at Comic-Con where she has stood with legends like Stan Lee, Shannon Hale, and Sergio Aragones.

If you want to see more of AniMia, check out her Instagram and Twitter.

Aza Miyuko

Aza Miyuko is a Korean cosplayer who started gaining popularity in 2011 with the Spiral Cats.

She’s currently a fashion design student. Everything she’s been learning in her classes she puts towards making her costumes; drawing designs, dying fabrics, and sewing the costumes together.

Her Kuroneko cosplay is where she gained most of her fame from. The costume is based on a 1968 black and white horror film from Japan that is adapted from a folktale.

The way Aza has taken anime fashion designs and has made them three-dimensional is what has put her on this list. Her cosplay designs are astounding.

If you want to see more of her costume designs, check out her Instagram and Twitter profiles.

Ely Cosplay

Ely Cosplay is one of the most famous cosplayers in Taiwan and has been cosplaying for over ten years now.

She brings an unrepeatable level of professionalism and detail to the cosplay she designs. She also will fully embody the character she is taking on to give her fans the best experience at conventions.

There are two looks that fans know her for; her Sword Art Online cosplay and her portrayal of Sakuya from the series Touhou.

Do you want to see the detail in her cosplay for yourself? Take a look at her Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Final Thoughts

There are so many amazing cosplayers that it was hard to make this list. If you’re looking to flood your social media pages with cosplay inspiration, you should follow these cosplayers.

They post often, and their cosplay is impeccable and they each provide a wide variety of character ideas.

The amount of detail might be a little overwhelming if you’ve never sat at a sewing machine before, but the one thing you should learn from their platforms is their passion.

Apply this passion to your own cosplay, and you’ll be looking like a pro in no time.
